So, on my way to Waltz Astoria tonight, I came across a guy with a telescope on the sidewalk at 29th and Ditmars. He said "Hey, do you wanna see the moon?" He was asking everyone who passed by. So, I looked through the viewfinder and there it was - the moon! It was pretty cool looking.
I think this was part of the 100 Hours of Astronomy event that happened April 2-5. I wish it happened more often!

His name is Patrick and no, he was not part of the 100 Hours of Astronomy event. Just a friendly neighborhood part-time astronomer who can be found on that corner most clear nights during the entire year.
Can I just say, that is so cool!!! What a great thing for him to do. I hope I run into him again. I'll look for him in the future. Thanks for the info!
