I really love Yajai Thai, on 30th. It's not the prettiest, so I usually just use it for take-out. Also, I've had MUCH better luck with their noodle dishes than their non-noodle, protein-based entrees.
ReplyDeleteThai Pavillion, also on 30th, is also good, and is nicer so is an option for dining in.
I believe at both I had the pad Thai and a Thai iced team, and enjoyed it both times.
not necessarily in astoria, but definitely worth the trip
ReplyDeletego for the noodles, stay for the duck salad!

Right on! Thanks for these suggestions.
ReplyDeleteThanks, JIA! These really did make me feel warmer.
ReplyDeleteYou all should try Poodam on 45th and Broadway. It's my favorite Thai place in Astoria.
ReplyDeleteYeah, Poodam's is the real deal. They don't mess around with their duck salad. Spicy! Try the Issan specials, this ain't a place for pad thai.
ReplyDeleteAlso Zabb on Broadway (across from Yajai) has good food and a nice atmosphere...
ReplyDeleteZabb has closed :( It's now a sushi place called Matsu.
ReplyDeletePoodam!
