Portions of the article are completely sensational -- like suggesting that the loss of the W will force people to drive into Manhattan. That's ridiculous.

Here is a link I found to the MTA document that clearly explains the impact of losing the W (see page 36 of the PDF, page 7 of the document):

http://www.mta.info/mta/news/books/pdf/100125_1031_service2010-nyct.pdf

Everyone seems to overlook that the N replaces the W while the Q gets extended to Ditmars terminal under this plan. Service within Astoria will be similar to pre-cut levels with the exception of Astoria-Lower Manhattan trips (requiring a transfer to the R).

I personally don't support the proposed MTA changes and have signed the petition, but I think it's important to read the facts for yourself and assess whether statements made by the press/politicians are factual or simply inflammatory.Kevinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02222318743070911576noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11850259.post-15113139995704729682010-03-03T18:55:22.561-05:002010-03-03T18:55:22.561-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.Kevinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02222318743070911576noreply@blogger.com
