So, there's no easy way to say this. Except maybe from behind my computer. I'm moving to Vermont. Yep. I'm moving to Burlington, Vermont at the end of the month. Why? 'Cause it's awesome - not that Astoria isn't, but Astoria and I are just going our separate ways.
The good news is that I have a list of things I've always been meaning to check out, but never relayed to you. Like my coffee cart guy, I'll be popping a fresh one out for you every day - until I run out.
I'll miss you guys - thank you for reading! By the way, I hope we can stay in touch - in January you'll be able to catch me at my new url - Joey in Vermont.
Addendum: New Joeys
I'm heartbroken :(
ReplyDeleteNo more good Astoria blogging...
Well my name is Joe...maybe I should keep it up hehe...

Thanks! I'll miss writing this blog - no doubt.
ReplyDeletei have a feeling the places you have in line for your blog are the same places i have in line for mine. if you beat me to them i can't wait to see what you think. i have a feeling that some of the ones i mean to check out (i'm broke i can only go so many places ya know) you already have written about (i'm too lazy to look at archives) i found your blog after setting mine up. we're doing something similar. yours is a nice read, too bad it's for a limited time only. hopefully mine gets as good. good luck in vermont, and churn out what you've got for the month.
ReplyDeleteJenn -
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to see how your site goes!
Jo
So you are escaping to the boring suburbia?
ReplyDeleteWho do you think will read your blog when you're in damn' Vermont??
ReplyDeleteI said I'm moving to Burlington, not Westchester. ??
ReplyDeletei'm actually crying right now...
ReplyDeleteI would be crying if I was moving to Westchester. =)
ReplyDeletei just recently found your blog and sent it to my fellow astorians. i am so sad to hear this
ReplyDeleteUgh, Karma, it breaks my heart to hear stuff like that. I'm sorry! Thanks for reading, tho. I can only hope that someone will pick up where I leave off. Fortunetly, I'm not moving away from the internet, so if anyone else comes on the scene, I can always link to them.
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Astoria will never be the same, Joey! What sad news for us. I've really enjoyed all your posts, informative bits and tips about all things QNS over the past year. Here's to new adventures in Burlington! PS: are you going to get a few quarts of Uncle Louie G's for the road?
ReplyDeleteI'll really miss Louie G's, man! But if there's one thing VT has - it's quality dairy products. You'll have to come up for a tasting!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the well-wishing everyone!
you did a great job with your blog.
ReplyDeletegood luck in beautiful vermont!
Awww, I will miss reading your blog, but Burlington is fantastic! I've many friends there and visit often. I'll miss reading your posts about Astoria (love it here, too) but wish you all the best in fab Burlington! You will love it!
ReplyDeleteMake sure to give the new writers a chance. I expect they'll outdo me!
ReplyDeletejust found your blog today cuz wifey and i have had it with the upper west side... and now you're leaving astoria for burlington!
ReplyDeleteburlington is like our second home and it's GREAT!!! she's a musician and we get up there several times a year. i'm looking forward to reading what you have to say about all the places i'm sure you'll be getting to up there.
be sure to stop in at Al's French Frys for some greasy eats, and Parkway Diner where the waitstaff dresses funny. both are on route 2 going out to the airport.
good luck!!!
