Buffalo in Astoria

Well, that would be buffalo burgers. While I was at Family Corner, a tiny little diner in the Ditmars neighborhood, this past weekend I noticed they had buffalo burgers on the menu. You can get the burger by itself ($4) or deluxe ($5.50). I am intrigued.

Loved their eggs over medium - so tasty! And the iced coffee isn't half bad.

It's been a while, but I'm fairly sure that Mike's Diner, under the Ditmars subway stop, also has buffalo burgers. At least, they used to.

(Oh, and I think their address is 21-02, not 31-02...)

Thank for catching the address, Harlan! And for the tip about Mike's Diner having the buffalo!

Also Soho Sandwiches under the Ditmars Subway has Buffalo burgers. Probably by #1 order from there.

Thanks for the buffalo tips, all! Good to know "the other red meat" is readily accesible.

Wonder if buffalo gyro will eventually make its way onto some menus...

:D

Wow. I didn't even know Buffalo was raised for slaughter. They're so pretty!
