Win the NEW Forking Fantastic Cookbook!

Forking Fantastic! Yes, it certainly is...

Not only is Forking Fantastic, the name of a cleverly titled cookbook, it also happens to be written by two Astoria cooks, foodies, enthusiasts and simply great women--Zora O'Neill and Tamara Reynolds, hosts and founders of the Sunday Night Dinner supper club.

If you know anything about this duo and their supper club, you won't be surprised to find Forking Fantastic full of Zora and Tamaraisms--irreverent, endearing commentary brought forth in a colorful, funny and informative book about food, dining and being a superb host.

We're extremely proud of our Astorian chicas and the critics haven't been too harsh either. Just check out these fabulous reviews from some pretty high-profile folks.

"I love these girls and their tasty, delicious, no-nonsense cooking."- Jamie Oliver

"This eccentrically enjoyable book by two strange and wonderful women may well be the cookbook America needs right now. Fun, deliberately unintimidating and filled with interesting-even ingenious-recipes, it inspires the non-professional to raise their game-and have a good time while doing so. Both book and authors are clearly good for the world."-Anthony Bourdain

"In Forking Fantastic, Tamara and Zora share their gift of creating easy and delicious meals with wonderful stories, tips, and recipes--reminding us all that good food is about sitting around a table and eating, drinking, talking, and laughing." -Ana Sortun, chef/owner of Oleana Restaurant and author of Spice

Here's your chance to score a FREE copy. Comment on this post and tell us about your favorite dinner dish. We'll be choosing a lucky winner at random on Friday, October 30th. Good luck!

And if you don't win, you can always buy their book on Amazon.

I'd love this cookbook! It'll help me expand my repetoire! My favorite dinner recipe of someone else's is my boyfriend's macaroni and cheese, because it involves bacon, so hello. ;) But my favorite of my own to make is I make a great lemon artichoke chicken with capers. It's delicious, if I do say so myself!

One of my all-time favorite dishes is the family Chicken Fricasee. It's basically browned chicken that's been steam-stewed in its own juices with tons of onions and seasoning. That on top of home-made kasha varnishkas (and some broccoli for something green on the plate) is just wonderful.

My favorite dish is Grilled Chicken Alfredo with Artichokes, Pancetta, and Sun-Dried Tomatoes over Penne. It is creamy, smokey, and cheesy. The sun-dried tomatoes add a hint of sweetness.

Ratatouille. Hands down. I can even spell it now! I live by the 30th Ave fruit market and can buy all fresh ingredients for this dish for under $10, and it makes great leftovers. I usually eat with bread for dinner, eggs and English muffins for breakfast, with turkey on a sandwich for lunch... mmm, getting hungry...

I've been semi obsessed with my own take on Coq Au Vin, lately. Fry up pieces of chicken to make the skin crispy in a cast iron skillet, then create a wondrous sauce with white wine, dried figs, shallots, and carrots, with plenty of delicious butter, then bake in the oven for 40 minutes, and its heavenly, especially with some rice to soak up all that delicious sauce!

For an everyday, make-after-getting-home-from-work-at-8:30 dish, homemade burritos. It's so easy to add a different pepper to the sauce, switch out the meat of the cheese and experiment with different kinds of beans. Put it on a low-calorie tortilla, and it's pretty healthy too!

My favorite dish? Definitely homemade chicken tikka masala! but if I don't have hours to spend in the kitchen, then I love black bean lasagna.
