Exciting LIC Food News

From Eric at Long Island City:
So the Manducatis family is back, this time they are about to open up a high end gourmet market right Vernon Blvd, its about 5000sqft and will have everything from cheeses, to olives, breads, wine and even gelato…

Not sure exactly where on Vernon, but I'm guessing its further into LIC. But the news is very exciting!

hi -- I just moved to Astoria in February and have been loving it so far. I somehow came across this blog and I love it.

Anyway, wanted to see if you guys knew about Il Bambino on 31st ave at 33rd street (near Brick). It's a great little place that is astonishingly similar to Mario Batali's 'ino in the West Village (although much cheaper and byo). It lacks a little in the decor, but the food is delicious and if you go, you must try the manchego and mirabello panini. (I swear I don't work there! It's just a really good restaurant that doesn't seem to be getting the crowds it should.)

Thanks for stopping in and keep reading!
