A new something

Could be a bar, a restaurant, lounge, club? Apollon is on Steinway and an Ave. above Ditmars i think. I spaced on writing down the cross street. I was walking along just checking out the area and it just struck out to me. Looks quite nice. Guess we'll have to check back in in a a week or so, the opening can't be too far off. Anyone out there have any info?

i believe it is already open for business. it looks like a clubby bar from the outside to me. and i know that the space has a kitchen, as it previously operated as a restaurant.

I'm pretty sure this is the bar on 23rd Ave and Steinway, it's been there for at least a year now. I've never been, but before that, it was a girlie bar, where the waitresses would dance spanish music with you (rather than get naked). It didn't last very long. Interesting that the space still has windows which you can't see into.

This place opened last year. The crowd consists predominantly of older Greek gentlemen and there is no shortage of smoke (pretty much the crowd from the old coffee shop on Ditmars that is now Inside Astoria).

On top of that - drinks are overpriced ($10 for a small, weak gin and tonic) and the service isn't that friendly.
