Vote. Or Else.

I know, I know. You can't live without your morning latte, you're partying 'till 2am and you can't let your hair air dry. I don't really care. If you don't vote tomorrow or on Election Day, then we're not friends anymore. We're also probably not friends if you vote for Weiner tho that it would be funny to have a "Mayor Weiner". Heh. C'mon, I know you laughed.

Anyhoo, to find your pollsite, in Astoria, or wherever, please use the BOE's lovely new Poll site Locator.

this is off the subject but has anyone heard more about the astoria presbyterian church on 33rd st. being demolished to build a 10 story building? that sounds hideous.

Yes, unfortunately it's true. The church used to host the Astoria Performing Arts Center http://apacny.org/ and a good friend of mine who was part of that as well a a member of the Church told me they can't afford not to do this. It's sad to think though. This church was founded by Stephen Halsey, The Father of Astoria. There are some great pictures of this church from the early 1900s' at http://www.laguardiawagnerarchive.lagcc.cuny.edu/ the pictures show that there used to be a big ball field where 33 through 38 streets are today. It will be a great loss for Astoria. That's progress!!!
